the pumpkin daypack
background:
after years of using my TNF borealis backpack for everything from travel, hiking, and daily school use, i realized that i needed a backpack that allowed me to better adjust to the different aspects of my life. designing the pumpkin daypack was my solution.
design/use analysis of my old backpack
the back padding is ergonomic and comfortable
the padded laptop sleeve works great (tested many times)
good:
bad:
not enough space for traveling (can only fit 1-2 sets of clothes and toiletries
the balance is very top heavy
the materials aren’t very water resistant
the colors are kind of plain and boring
too many sleeves (easy to lose things)
design goals:
1. increased capacity for traveling
3. can still be used for daily classes/work
2. water resistant materials
4. design with more character
